Sacyr, a leading Spanish infrastructure company, is evaluating investment proposals presented by the Czech government for transport infrastructure projects. These opportunities are part of the Czech Republic’s public-private partnership (PPP) program, aiming to modernize and expand the country’s transportation systems over the next decade. The focus is on highway developments and rail networks, including the construction of a high-speed rail system.
Sacyr’s executives recently visited the Czech Republic to engage directly with local officials and potential partners, discussing initial projects of interest. The government’s PPP initiative is poised to generate investments exceeding €30 billion, targeting multiple transport sectors.
A significant portion of this program includes developing the high-speed rail system, with an estimated investment of €27 billion. This initiative involves both conventional railway updates and new high-speed routes, such as the modernization of the Prague-Veleslavín to Václav Havel Airport line. The plan also encompasses the creation of the multimodal terminal at Dlouhá Míle and the new Prague-Liboc station.
These projects are part of a broader strategy to improve the Czech Republic’s transportation infrastructure, which will enhance domestic connectivity and strengthen links with neighboring European countries. The government intends to launch the tender process for these projects before the year’s end, providing attractive opportunities for international companies like Sacyr.
